What is a color corrected photograph?

Color correction has to do with adjusting the light temperature in a photograph. Modern day professional cameras, like the D800 that I use, is very good and can give most photographs a neutral auto color balance with minor color shift. However, the camera will always give a neutral white balance which is a problem if you want to use colors to set the mood, and each photographer has a different mood set for his/her photos. Color correction has to be done on a calibrated monitor, or in short the monitor has to be adjusted to accurately display the proper amount of brightness, contrast, and color temperature for printing before you can use it for color correcting.

Subtle edits like color correcting on a calibrated monitor make a huge difference in the outcome of your photos. It’s very slow and time consuming process to go through each photo for color correction, but I do this because my clients deserve the best.
