My Rowboat

My rowboat

My rowboat

I love my little rowboat probably a little more than I should.

The whole rowboat idea was an inspiration from “The Notebook” but with a James Tang’s twist. The creative idea came into my head in early 2013 or about 1 year after I officially started my business. It took about 2 years after that for me to find the right boat, the one!

I drove 4.5hrs one way, towing a homemade trailer, up hill, both ways just to see it. It was love at first sight. I towed it back home on the same day screaming in my car out of excitement most of the way home. The boat needed some work so I spent the next couple of months fixing it up to make it presentable. It was a labor of love.

Since then, my rowboat is my most prized possession in my business more than any latest expensive camera equipment that I own. I’ve taken it to Yosemite, Big Sur, San Simeon, Kings Canyon, Lake Tahoe, Mammoth Lakes, Big Bear, Lake Arrowhead and and pretty much anywhere that I can get to by driving. Just like my photos, it started with a simple idea, a creative vision, in my own head. It took a while but I’m so happy that I’m able to turn an idea into reality.

So yes, I’m obsessed with my rowboat.
